Chinese National Day , officially the National Day of the People's Republic of China, is a public holiday in China celebrated annually on 1 October as the national day of the People's Republic of China, commemorating Mao Zedong's formal proclamation of the establishment of the People's Republic of China on 1 October 1949.

Normally, the holiday will last October 1 to October 7, 2024 which is the Golden Week, every year the Chinese celebrate the establishment of the People's Republic of China on October 1. For this occasion, there is a week-long holiday extended from October 1 to October 7.

How to celebrate the Golden Week.
During this period, most businesses and factories in China will be closed. Traditionally, Chinese people used to take the opportunity to travel for leisure and visit their families in other parts of China.
