1.Installation diagram - the rail with groove on the side connecting L foot:

If the solar rail grooves are on the top and on the side: the groove on the side is to connect L foot and the other groove on the top for solar mid clamp and solar end clamp installation.

2.Installation diagram - the rail with groove on the bottom
If your the rail grooves are on the top and on the bottom, then the groove on the bottom is to connect the standing seam roof hook, the groove on the top is for solar mid clamp and end clamp installation.
